Working together in a future-oriented city

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Together with our event organization, we have decided to turn Tampere Business Forum 2022 into an online event. Considering the current restrictions and the epidemic situation, this was neccessary to do. Fortunately, we are well equipped for this and the aim is to produce a high-quality remote experience nevertheless.

Tampere is the most attractive region in Finland to live and run a business in. In addition, the future-oriented City of Tampere is investing over EUR 6 billion in the development of the city by 2030. Tampere has the country’s highest technological know-how and great innovation potential, thanks to our university and our strong ICT and manufacturing clusters. The City of Tampere wants to be a partner and an enabler to new business models and opportunities.

Finland’s most popular student city is not afraid of change, and cooperation is one of the key catalysts for change. The theme of the next Tampere Business Forum event is “Working together in a future-oriented city”. Now it is time to give voices to companies: we hear thoughts directly from the minds of business leaders based in the Tampere region.

Some of the questions we aim to ask are:

  • How has the placement in the area gone?
  • How do companies, the City and universities in the area work together and how could cooperation be developed further?
  • What could companies and society do to help international students stay in the country?
  • What can the City offer to businesses?
  • What is the role of the urban area in supporting businesses?
  • What role do innovation, clusters and ecosystems play in running a successful business?
  • What makes the region strong?
  • How could investing in the Tampere region be developed?

We will also be discussing the challenges of skilled workforce and the integration of international students, as well as the rise of creative industries in the Tampere region.
